On the 25 of December 2021, the James Webb Telescope was launched into space by NASA. The telescope is in orbit around the Sun, about 1.6 million km from Earth.
The first images were released in July 2022, and were truly extraordinary.
Since then, the telescope has given scientists, and us, a stunning look into the universe.

The aim for this exhibition is to portray the wide-ranging responses we as humans can have when confronted with the vastness of the Universe.

Does one surrender to abstraction or focus on that which is tangible and comprehensible (still life’s or portraits for example)?

Feel comforted (or in despair) by one’s (comparative) insignificance or turn to one’s spirituality?  Trying to comprehend the vastness of the universe feels absurd, a bit like trying to comprehend Graham’s number, so perhaps art is a good place to turn.
